Pick up from the airport

Destination: Shira Plateau, Kilimanjaro National Park

07:00 AM – Pick-Up from Hotel (Shira Plateau Trek Begins)
Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. After a short briefing and gear check, you’ll begin the scenic drive toward Kilimanjaro National Park to start your Shira Plateau Trek experience.

09:30 AM – Arrive at Londorossi Gate
Reach Londorossi Gate (2,250m) on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro. Here, park formalities are completed. You’ll have time to stretch, use restrooms, and prepare for your Shira Plateau Trek adventure.

10:00 AM – Drive to Shira Plateau (4x4 track)
Take a 40-minute drive on a rugged road to the Shira Ridge, reaching an elevation of around 3,500m. Along the way of your Shira Plateau Trek, enjoy views of the rainforest and keep an eye out for colobus monkeys and birdlife.

11:00 AM – Begin Light Hike on the Plateau (Shira Plateau Trek Experience)
Enjoy a 2–3 hour guided walk across the Shira Plateau as part of your Shira Plateau Trek. Highlights include:
