The Great Migration Wilderness Escape

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), a friendly staff member from Serengeti Landmark Tours will be there to welcome you for your Migration Wilderness journey. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Arusha, where you can relax after your journey and prepare for the Migration Wilderness experience ahead.

In the evening, you will have a safari briefing, where our team will go over your itinerary, answer any questions, and ensure you are well-prepared for your adventure. Get a good night’s rest—your unforgettable Migration Wilderness safari begins tomorrow.

We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30am, and after meeting your guide and chef, we will begin your Migration Wilderness journey with a drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2 hours). This park is famous for its diverse landscapes and is a key highlight of the Migration Wilderness experience in northern Tanzania.

Tarangire is particularly known for its abundance of ancient baobab trees and having the largest concentration of elephants in the country, offering unique opportunities to observe the interaction between elephant families. During your game drive, you will explore different areas of the park depending on recent wildlife sightings, especially predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, which are harder to spot. Herbivores like giraffes, wildebeest, and zebras are commonly seen throughout the Migration Wilderness route.

Later, you will stop at the Tarangire River picnic site and enjoy a beautiful view of the river and wildlife while having lunch. Small monkeys and baboons may try to approach your food, but there is no need to worry. After lunch, you will continue your game drive through this incredible part of the Migration Wilderness before heading to your accommodation for dinner and overnight rest.

After breakfast, you will enjoy an early game drive in Tarangire as you exit and continue your Migration Wilderness journey to Serengeti, which takes approximately 6 hours (including all stops) while transiting through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you will briefly stop at the gate and viewpoint to admire the breathtaking scenery of the crater for a maximum of 20 minutes, a classic highlight of the Migration Wilderness experience.

You also have the option to visit a Maasai village (not included in the price), which takes about 20–45 minutes. The entrance fee is 10 USD. This cultural visit is optional and offers a deeper connection to the people living within the Migration Wilderness region.

Serengeti National Park
You will arrive in the late afternoon and enjoy a game drive in Seronera (central Serengeti), the heart of the Migration Wilderness. Continue exploring until sunset, experiencing golden-hour views over the plains while observing wild animals up close. If lucky, you may witness predators such as lions or cheetahs on a hunt or making a kill. Later, you will head to Mbalageti Safari Lodge in the western Serengeti for dinner and overnight stay.

On this day will do a game drive in west Serengeti in the morning and proceed to south Serengeti depending on wildlife movements, so after an early breakfast will go on an early game drive, we will later have lunch and continue the game drive to the evening then return to the lodge Serengeti safari lodge in central Serengeti for dinner & overnight stay.

In this day will go to the wider parts of the Serengeti north west depending on wildlife movements, so after an early breakfast will go on an early game drive with picnic lunch, game drive will focus on Mara Serengeti hopefully seeing the herds of the migration crossing and continue the game drive to evening then return to the heritage Mara camps for dinner & overnight stay, Also animals can be spotted on camp.

In this day will also visit Mara exploring the west of Mara, seeing the formations of wildebeests gathering as they prepare to cross Mara river hopefully seeing the migration crossings so after an early breakfast will go on an early game drive, we will later have lunch and continue the game drive to evening then return to the heritage mara camp.

Seronera, Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast will go on an early game drive south of Serengeti toward Seronera & eventually will exit the Serengeti in the late afternoon heading to Serena Ngorongoro lodge with crater view (2hrs drive) near rim of Ngorongoro crater.

After an early breakfast will descend the crater (6:15 am) on a journey to find the black rhino, rhinos are the hardest to spot in the beautiful crater as most animals will be easier to spot from this park due to it being a floor crater

After lunch will do game drive and ascend the crater to camp and pack for the trip to Tulia spa & boutique hotel in arusha.

After breakfast will go to the Materuni waterfalls, where you will do a short hike for two hours witnessing great vegetations, surreal views & waterfalls then proceed to learn on the coffee processing in a small local organic farm having local lunch at the farm before driving to the airport.
