Day 01 :

Pick up from the airport

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), a friendly staff member from Serengeti Landmark Tours will be there to welcome you as part of your Budget Wildlife and culture Expedition. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Arusha, where you can relax after your journey.

In the evening, you will have a safari briefing for your Budget Wildlife and culture Expedition, where our team will go over your itinerary, answer any questions, and ensure you are fully prepared for your adventure. Get a good night’s rest—your unforgettable safari begins tomorrow.

Day 02 :

Arusha to Tarangire

We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30am. After getting familiar with your guide and chef, we will begin your journey as part of the Budget Wildlife and culture Expedition and drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2 hours). This park is famous for its diverse landscapes and is especially known for its abundance of ancient baobab trees and having the largest concentration of elephants in the country, offering unique opportunities to observe elephant family interactions.

During your Budget Wildlife and culture Expedition, you will enjoy a game drive through the park based on reported wildlife sightings, especially predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, which are more difficult to spot. Herbivores like giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, and many others are commonly seen throughout the park.

Later, we will stop at the Tarangire River picnic site for lunch while enjoying the beautiful river views and watching wildlife nearby. Small monkeys and baboons may try to approach, but there is no need to worry. After lunch, we will continue with an afternoon game drive before heading to your accommodation for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 03 :

Ngorongoro crater game drive

Ngorongoro Crater, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Arusha Region

After an early breakfast, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater at around 6:15 am as part of your Budget Wildlife and culture Expedition. Today’s journey focuses on searching for the rare black rhino, one of the hardest animals to spot in the crater. The crater floor makes wildlife viewing exceptional, as most animals are easier to see in this unique natural enclosure.

During your Budget Wildlife and culture Expedition, you will enjoy a full game drive across the crater floor, where you may encounter a wide variety of wildlife in close proximity. After lunch, you will continue with an afternoon game drive before ascending the crater.

Later, you will return to camp to pack and prepare for your journey to Tulia Spa & Boutique, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 04 :

Materuni waterfalls & coffee tour

Materuni is the home of the Chagga tribe and is still an authentic tribal village. This charming place is just 15km away from Moshi Town and is the last village before the Kilimanjaro National Park.

You will be picked up in the morning by our English-speaking guide as part of your Budget Wildlife and culture Expedition, who will drive you to Materuni Village. Upon arrival, you will register at the village office and your Budget Wildlife and culture Expedition experience will begin.

First, you will visit the waterfalls, which are around a 40-minute walk away. On the way, your guide will inform you about the culture of the Chagga, village life, and explain the surrounding fauna and flora. The views are truly breathtaking, and with some luck, you may see the summit of Kilimanjaro. When you reach the waterfalls, you will see that they are more than 80 meters high. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is an inviting place for a refreshing swim, so don’t forget your swimwear!

After enjoying the scenery, you will slowly return with your guide to Materuni Village, where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch. You will also have the opportunity to taste local banana beer—definitely not to be missed as part of your Budget Wildlife and culture Expedition.

Coffee Tour Experience
Next, the coffee experience awaits you. Here you will learn how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted, and processed. You will also be invited to take part in grinding the coffee, traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances—a fun and cultural highlight of your Budget Wildlife and culture Expedition. Before you say goodbye, you can savor the coffee you made while enjoying views of the surrounding rainforest.
