The Serengeti National Park is the most famous park in Tanzania which is known all over the world. It is renowned for its boundless lowlands, the migration of the wildebeests, the pride of lions and the other raiders, such as hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, jackals and crocodiles. In this day you will wake up early morning and have your full breakfast ,then you will start your game drive inside Serengeti , and our driver will drive you to northern Serengeti. Our driver will drive you to the key areas in Serengeti To observe this mass movement of the wildebeest and all the drama it entails, but we’d recommend the flash-points of the Mara River, , and the Ndutu Plains. River crossings at Kogatende starts in July as the mega herd settles into the area. Between July to October, game viewing is at its best with river crossings pretty much guaranteed every day. There is no distinct movement as the herds tend to cross back and forth over the river, following the rains and subsequent fresh grasses. In late June and July, the migration moves into north-western Serengeti. Thus, these are the best months to see the migration in the western region of Serengeti. And, in August to September you can see the Great Migration in northern Serengeti , dinner and overnight will be in tented logde
We will say goodbye to the Serengeti with a last photo opportunity while we are moving toward Lake Natron. Along the road, we will stop in various panoramic points from where we can admire the Rift Valley, Ol Doinyo Lengai, Lake Natron and the surrounding panorama. If we have time, we will be able to trek to a waterfall for a refreshing bath. For this occasion, we recommend using rubber sandals during trekking and a bathing suit during the crossing water river. If we do not have any time for this excursion, we will do it the following day dinner and overnight in lodge
Before breakfast, we will visit Lake Natron to observe the dawn to catch an unforgettable photo. We will see the flamingos and an unique panorama in the most absolute quiet. Pay attention to your shoes since the terrain is quite slippery and muddy. We will also visit a Maasai village to closely observe the Maasai culture and traditions. After lunch, we will reenter Arusha to capture some other photos dinner and overnight will be in hotel at Arusha
For the visit to the Kilimanjaro National Park, Savannah Explorers will organize a trek to the Mandaras Hut. We will depart from the gate at 1,830 meters in proximity of Marangu village, a typical local village surrounded by plantations of bananas and coffee. We will proceed toward the Mandaras Huts (2,700 meters) always accompanied by a professional guide. What to know abut this trip
Tanzania is a year-round safari destination, but the best time for wildlife viewing is during the dry season from June to October. This is when animals gather around water sources, making them easier to spot. For the Great Migration in the Serengeti, the best time is between June and July (river crossings) and January to February (calving season).
Tanzania is home to the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) along with many other animals, such as giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, cheetahs, and a wide variety of birds and reptiles. You can also witness the Great Migration of millions of wildebeest and zebras in the Serengeti.
High season. For excellent game viewing, the high season (dry season) is best in a Tanzania safari. The dryness visibility is better thus it is easier to spot the wildlife. In the High season, you will witness more tourists.
- Clothing: Lightweight, neutral-colored clothing (long sleeves and pants for sun protection), a warm jacket for mornings and evenings, comfortable walking shoes, and a hat.
- Essentials: Sunscreen, insect repellent, sunglasses, camera, binoculars, reusable water bottle, and a small first-aid kit.
Absolutely! After an exciting safari, many visitors choose to relax on the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar, Pemba, or Mafia Island. These islands offer pristine beaches, turquoise waters, and excellent diving/snorkeling opportunities.
Most safaris use 4×4 Land Cruisers or similar vehicles, designed for off-road conditions. These vehicles often come with pop-up roofs to provide better wildlife viewing and photography opportunities.
